I do have one suggestion that I’ve seen work: tell people in your post when there’s a piece of art that they can use for personal reasons (like a desktop or phone wallpaper). Also say in the post to ask if they’d like to use your art for an icon, or on their blog, or maybe as cover art for a story (i.e., anywhere more public).
